Sensors in the OMS2 series are used in harsh industrial environments where a robust, compact, contactless sensor with high resolution, very good linearity, and long service life is required. They are available in measuring lengths from 50 mm to 1500 mm. Thanks to the low profile of just 14 mm in height, the sensor is easy to install where space is limited. IP67 protection allows use in wet or contaminated areas. Mounting is overhead using adjustable spring clamps.
Reliable signal processing
The OMS2 is based on a magnetostrictive measuring principle, noted for its high immunity to electromagnetic interference. The series has been optimized as the successor to OMS—particularly with regard to EMC compliance (2014/30/EU). Position information is provided as an absolute analogue signal (current or voltage, also inverted) immediately after power-up.
Flexible integration via different magnetic markers
Position is detected using either a guided or free magnetic position marker—without mechanical coupling.
