Overview
The Beta 300 is a beta transmission gauge for online, non-contact measurement of thickness and basis weight on continuous web products. Each Beta sensor is configured to the specific web application to ensure optimal measurement performance. Nordson’s minimized-activity source design uses smaller, lighter source capsules and reduced shielding to produce a compact head with lower radioactivity. The detector features a high-efficiency ion chamber with a specially welded thin window filled with denser inert gas at higher pressure and lower ionization potential, delivering increased measurement sensitivity and superior nuclear statistics. A collimator over the detector window creates broad alignment plateaus that reduce sensitivity to z-direction displacement between source and receiver.
