Overview
The FilmPro gauge measures thickness and basis-weight by infrared transmission for films, sheets and coated products. FilmPro is designed to deliver repeatable, high-resolution process control measurements across variable production environments using a patented infrared optical system and precision components.

Non‑Nuclear Technology
FilmPro uses infrared transmission rather than radioactive sources. This eliminates the need for radiation licenses, specialized shielding or interlocked safety gates and simplifies installation, maintenance and regulatory compliance.

Improved Optical Engine (FSO)
Thin, clear films can produce reflected light and optical interference that affect transmission accuracy. The optional FSO module and refined optical engine reduce sensitivity to optical interference, film thickness variation and scanner run‑out, improving measurement stability for challenging thin‑film applications.

Versatility
FilmPro measures clear, pigmented, voided/pearlescent and tinted products, including stripe coatings. It provides true thickness measurement for microporous, breathable or voided films and can derive density when combining basis‑weight and thickness data. Simultaneous measurement of barrier layers (e.g., Nylon, EVOH, PVDC) with polyolefin layers is supported.

FilmPro integrates with Nordson scanning frames and typical compatible scanners such as AccuTrak O‑Frame, MiniTrak O‑Frame, MiniTrak S‑Frame and SlimTrak II to suit a range of web widths and process environments.
