Description

Fail-safe pin coupling with flexible elements The Orpex® couplings are used as compensating couplings wherever absolutely reliable torque transmission is required. High torques Orpex® couplings cover a wide range of applications with their designs. With a total of 26 sizes, couplings are available for torques from 200 to 1,300,000 Nm. The WN coupling halves are made of gray cast iron. The steel WS design allows the clutch to be used at high speeds. Critical speeds possible The spherically shaped elastic elements - the buffers - which move in the locating bores, make it possible to compensate for shaft misalignments in angular, radial and axial directions. Orpex® couplings dampen torque surges and offer the possibility of shifting critical speeds. Orpex® couplings are puncture-proof up to the breaking torque of the metal parts, which is a multiple of the permissible impact torque, and therefore offer the greatest possible operational reliability. Long service life Orpex® couplings can be used for both directions of rotation and are also suitable for reversing operation. The buffers can be expected to have a long service life if the coupling is correctly designed and correctly aligned during installation.
