OverviewBESS.IKLI-EGV provides proven EGV deflagration venting performance with insulation positioned on the exterior of the panel. Insulation properties can be customised to suit any Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) design.
ApplicationDesigned for roof installation on BESS units, the device vents deflagrations upward to a safe location. Insulation is housed in a metal cassette mounted on top of the vent panel. The standard burst pressure is 0.1 bar at 22 °C (71.6 °F) and can be reduced to 0.025 bar for specific BESS designs.
MechanismDuring a deflagration, pressure rise causes the vent to open at the defined breaking point, releasing overpressure from the BESS into the surrounding area.
Advantages- High venting capacity and full-bore opening due to low surface weight.
- High stability and rapid opening provided by the integrated bionic structure.
- Wide range of EGV geometries allows adaptation to different BESS layouts.
- Quick and easy installation: torque-independent mounting, no additional counter-frame required.
- Space savings from integrated gasket and clamping frame in the explosion vent.
- Flexible external insulation options.
ModelsBESS.IKLI-EGV is a roof-mounted vent panel with exterior insulation. Related variants include BESS.EGV (roof-mounted deflagration venting, economical) and BESS.EGV-IAF (roof-mounted vent panel with interior insulation).
Certifications- Meets NFPA 68 requirements.
- ATEX EU type examination certificate no. FSA 04 ATEX 1538 X.
- SIL-Equivalent: SIL 4.
