OverviewUse the power of Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 in an industrial IoT controller designed by RESI. The product is an industrial-grade controller in a housing for DIN-rail and wall mounting, available in 4MU, 8MU and 12MU sizes. It includes a wide-range power supply (12–48 Vdc) and an ARM co-processor to manage time-critical interfaces and I/O tasks.
Key features- Industrial housing for DIN-rail and wall mounting; fits standard 45 mm front-panel cutouts.
- Wide-range power supply: 12–48 Vdc.
- ARM co-processor with unique 96-bit serial number, 2 kB ferromagnetic RAM for persistent values, RTC with backup capacitor, status LEDs and DIP switch for software use.
- Standard Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 interfaces: 1×Micro HDMI, 1×Ethernet, 2×USB 2.0; RAM options 2/4/8 GB; 32 GB SD card with Linux OS.
I/O and serial interfacesThe controller is offered in versions with integrated I/Os. The ARM co-processor handles I/O internally so the main software communicates with I/O functions via serial devices. Serial interface mappings include: /dev/ttyACM0 (ASCII text protocol), /dev/ttyACM1 (MODBUS/RTU master), and RS485 via USB mapped to /dev/ttyACM2 (native serial). Available I/O types include digital inputs/outputs, relay outputs, LED-stripe specific I/Os, temperature sensor inputs and shade/blind control interfaces.
Universal analog inputs/outputs (AIOX)- Available in 4 / 8 / 16 channels.
- Each channel can be individually configured as:
- Analog input: 0 / 2–10 V or 0 / 4–20 mA
- Analog output: 0 / 2–10 V or 0 / 4–20 mA
- Resistor measurement input: 0 to 1 MΩ
- PT100, PT1000, NI1000-DIN43760 sensor input
- Digital input for 24 Vdc or dry contact
Software & connectivityShips with a standard Raspberry Pi Linux distribution and is compatible with open-source software: Node-RED, NodeJs, Python, Java, JavaScript, C#, C++, Scratch. Supported databases include MariaDB, MongoDB, InfluxDB and PostgreSQL. UI and visualization tools such as Grafana or Apache can be used. Home automation compatibility: OpenHAB, FHEM, Home Assistant, IO Broker. Cloud connectivity via MQTT, HTTPS, Azure IoT and standard web services is supported. The platform can also be used for VPN/router solutions (OpenWrt, OpenRouter, OpenVPN, WireGuard), multimedia (KODI) and industrial PLC solutions (CODESYS).
LED stripes and variantsControl up to 12 constant-voltage LED strips configured as 12 PWM outputs in 4 groups. Versions with a second Ethernet port or an integrated LTE modem for remote/cloud communication are available. Note: not all option combinations are technically possible; consult product details for order numbers and selectable combinations.
