Description

Product information
The romod 4DI2DO-R-3P eco is a DIN-rail module providing two groups of 3-point relay outputs for controlling two OPEN-STOP-CLOSE drives (e.g. shutters) or similar actuators. Four digital inputs accept status or control signals for operation, error or position feedback.

Digital Outputs
  • Relay outputs provide the normally open (NO) contact for each relay.
  • Switched signals must share the same phase.
  • For each channel, opening and closing run times can be parameterized as well as over-/understeer times (longer activation than required for full travel).
  • Configured run times take effect only when outputs are activated via bus commands.

Digital Inputs
  • Digital inputs are controlled with 24 V via external dry contacts; reference potential is defined via the COM terminals and may be 0 V or 24 V.
  • With 24 V reference, inputs can be driven by 0 V signals.
  • Four inputs can be configured as limit switches: on reaching an end position the drive is switched off and the module corrects the calculated position to 0% (closed) or 100% (open).
  • If no end position is reached within configured run times in automatic mode, the drive switches off for safety; this does not apply in manually oversteered mode.
  • Inputs can alternatively control outputs via externally connected steady switches (no pulses); configured run times are not considered in this mode.
  • For AC-driven inputs, edge detection should be delayed via configuration registers—set to at least 40 ms at 50 Hz to avoid false detections.

Technical data
  • Power supply: 24 V AC/DC, connection via terminals
  • Current consumption: typically 68 mA (DC), 152 mA (AC) with all relays activated
  • Power dissipation: max. 1.7 W (DC), 3.7 W (AC) with all relays activated
  • DO specification: Relay outputs (NO), max. 250 VAC
  • Initial contact resistance (resistive load): 100 mΩ (at 1 A / 24 VDC)
  • Rated load: 3 A at 250 VAC / 30 VDC
  • Max. switching voltage: 277 VAC, 30 VDC
  • Max. switching capacity: 830 VA (AC), 90 W (DC)
  • Endurance: 100,000 operations (rated load)
  • Inductive loads should be avoided or suppressed at the source

Bus interface
  • Interface: RS485
  • Supported baud rates (autobauding): 9,600; 19,200; 38,400; 57,600 Baud
  • Bus cycle time depends on baud rate and number of addressed data points
  • Configuration stored in internal EEPROM, up to 100,000 write cycles
  • Protocol: Modbus RTU (RS485), serial parameters 8-N-1

Environmental conditions
  • Operating temperature: 0…50 °C
  • Transport and storage temperature: 0…70 °C
  • Relative humidity: 10…90% non-condensing
  • Protection class: IP20
