Description

The level / linear position transducers of the PCX series are rugged, accurate, without mechanical wear between the measuring probe and the float, they are resistant to shock and vibrations and are equipped with protection against hostile environments. They are absolute measure transducers – of a magnetostrictive type – with measuring ranges from 100 to 3,000 mm, which measure the position of the magnetic float compared to the probe in a fluid digitally and continuously with no friction or wear between the parts. The measuring probe, that is 10 mm in diameter, is made of AISI316L stainless steel with TIG welding, in order to make it possible to be used in the most severe operating conditions, in pharmaceutical, food or chemical applications, with working pressures in the area of 350 bar and peaks up to 700 bar. Also the eletronics case is in stainless steel. The transducer is fixed to the tank by means of a threaded M18 x 1.5 nipple to which the measuring electronics is connected, with the possibility of a connection to the control electronics by means of a cable or connector. The position measurement is available as digital data in the calibration units – via a RS485 connection with a Modbus, or CANopen protocol – or as an analog signal (voltage or current). The transducers of the PCX series are CE marked, they have passed EMC tests and are also available in an explosion-proof case.
