Description

Tyco® Model DPV-1 Dry Pipe Valves are differential valves that automatically control the flow of water into dry pipe fire protection sprinkler systems. These valves also provide for actuation of fire alarms upon system operation. External reset provides simple reset procedure and eliminates priming water Unique offset, single-clapper design minimizes installation labor, valve size, and valve weight Ductile iron construction ensures a lightweight valve to minimize shipping cost Easy Installation and Maintenance The unique, offset clapper design of the DPV-1 helps to minimize both the size and weight of the valve. With just one moving part, the simple yet effective design has reduced risk of failure compared to more complex valves. Additionally, the valve can be reset with an easy press of the external plunger, eliminating the time and effort to remove the cover plate and reset the clapper. Dry pipe sprinkler systems are used in unheated warehouses, parking garages, store windows, attic spaces, loading docks, and other areas exposed to freezing temperatures when water-filled pipe cannot be used. When set for service, the dry pipe sprinkler system is pressurized with air (or nitrogen). The loss of pressure through an operated automatic sprinkler in response to heat from a fire permits the DPV-1 Dry Pipe Valve to open and allow a flow of water into the sprinkler system piping. Features UL and C-UL Listed, FM Approved, NYC Approved (4" and 6") under MEA 172-02-E Ductile iron construction ensures a lightweight valve to minimize shipping cost 16 bar pressure rating
