Description

Iwaki, November 2023— Tungaloy continues to enhance its innovative, extremely productive DrillMeister exchangeable-head drill system to expand its benefits of flexible and economical drilling solutions to an even greater range of applications. The system’s DMN drill head line now offers additional tool diameter options for efficient drilling in non-ferrous metals. DrillMeister exchangeable-head drill system combines the precision of solid carbide drills with the flexibility of modular tooling. While aluminum is considered a machinable material, drilling this material has its own challenges including built-up edge. The DMN drill head is developed specifically for drilling aluminum alloys. It features optimal geometry with sharp cutting edges, which prevents built-up edge from forming during operations. In addition to the current diameter options ranging from 10.0 to 19.5 mm, the DMN drill head line now includes six new diameter sizes, ranging from 6.8 mm to 9.5 mm (from .268″ to .374″). These drill sizes are suitable for drilling holes for tapping threads of metric bolts and screws from M8 to M11. The drill heads are available in a fine grain sized KS15F uncoated carbide grade which provides exceptional chipping resistance and edge line security.
