OverviewThe MS-Z5 is a security hammer mill designed to physically destroy confidential electronic media. Its compact, office-compatible footprint supports adjustable destruction sizes via replaceable discharge screens, enabling configurations from high-throughput bulk processing to fine-particle, high-security destruction. The machine uses proven crusher/hit-impact technology to pulverize hard media in a single pass.
Key Functional Features- High-impact hammer mill system (crushing by impact) suitable for hard media: HDDs, SSDs, flash memory, PCBs, and optical discs.
- Replaceable, screen-based size control at the discharge — particle size determined by installed screen; multiple screen diameters available to balance security and throughput.
- Transparent dust bin and cabinet door for visual verification of destruction progress.
- Lockable dust bin compartment containing the main power switch to prevent unauthorized access and operation.
- Automatic protections: overcurrent protection (automatic circuit trip) and automatic shutdown on overheating or sustained overcurrent beyond motor/inverter rating.
- Safety interlocks: instant stop if dust bin door or maintenance covers are opened.
- Automatic stop when dust bin reaches full capacity (dust bin full sensor).
- Motor overload indicator with recommended operator feeding procedure to avoid excessive load.
- Equipped with casters for mobility and anti-tipping adjusters to secure the machine in place.
How the Physical Destruction WorksThe MS-Z5 uses rapidly rotating hammers to crush and pulverize media by high-speed impact rather than cutting. A screening element inside the crushing chamber retains material until particles are small enough to pass through the screen. This allows bulk feeding of fragile impact-prone media (e.g., optical discs, flash memory) for high throughput while permitting adjustable security by changing screens.
Smart, Screen-Based Size ControlThe discharge screen is user-replaceable, enabling quick adjustment of destruction particle size to meet security requirements. Larger screen openings increase throughput (lower security); smaller openings produce finer particles (higher security). Additional screens can be purchased separately to adapt to future needs without replacing the machine.
Maintenance & ReliabilityThe MS-Z5 has a simple mechanical structure designed for minimal downtime. Primary wear parts are lightweight and user-replaceable with common tools. Replacement frequency depends on media type, volume, and chosen screen size; heavy-use operations typically replace internal hammers modestly (often 1–2 times per year). Most maintenance tasks can be performed on-site.
Destructible Media (examples)- HDD / SSD (note: excludes 3.5" and server-used 2.5" HDDs)
- Circuit boards / PCBs
- CD / DVD / Blu-ray
- SIM cards
- EMV credit cards and magnetic-stripe cards
- USB / SD / CF flash media
- Tablets and cell phones (remove lithium‑ion batteries before processing)
Installation & Operational Notes- Indoor use only. Operating ambient temperature: 0℃ to 40℃.
- Power: 110 V, single-phase, 15 A.
- Maximum input piece size approximately 100 mm × 100 mm — remove large metal heatsinks or thick metallic components before feeding. Enterprise SSDs thicker than 9.5 mm require removal of outer casing/heatsink; feed only the internal PCB.
- Always remove lithium‑ion batteries prior to destruction.
- Base machine price includes one selected screen; additional screens sold separately. Certain screen sizes may be incompatible with specific media types.
Safety & Protection- Lockable dust bin compartment prevents unauthorized access and contains the main power switch to avoid unauthorized operation.
- Automatic safety interlocks stop the machine instantly if covers or the dust bin door are opened.
- Overcurrent and overheating protection will automatically shut down the machine to prevent damage.
- Dust bin full sensor triggers automatic stop.
