Overview
ME7091 is an underfloor-mounted HVAC unit designed for GE EVO-style diesel-electric locomotives. The unit combines heating, ventilation and air conditioning to maintain cab environmental requirements year-round, while minimizing maintenance through inverter-driven components.

Design & operation
The ME7091 series is inverter-driven to run from the 74 VDC locomotive bus and generate three-phase AC for HVAC motor loads. All motors are inverter-driven and the compressor is a hermetic scroll type. The inverter provides multiple operation modes and integrates thermostats, safeties and electronic protections including overload and reverse-polarity protection.
