Description

Product Overview
  • Capacitive voltage transformer (CVT) in calibration, the test must be conducted under the condition of 50Hz frequency, complex geographical condition on site at the same time, the traditional experiment device is difficult to meet the requirements of on-site handling, testing, series resonance booster device is first used in domestic field tunable resonance device, has been widely used in domestic 500 kv and below the field calibration of capacitor voltage transformer.

Product Characteristics
  • High Efficiency and Compact Design: Due to full compensation of resonant reactive power, the power rating of the power supply and equipment is less than one-tenth of the capacity required by the test object (1/Q > 10). For the same capacity, the device offers compact size and light weight, along with high output capacity and low power demand, resulting in cost-effectiveness, convenience, and safe operation.
  • Superior Waveform Quality: Series resonance functions effectively as a current filtering circuit, ensuring that the current passing through the test object is predominantly fundamental current. The total harmonic distortion (THD) of the output voltage is extremely low, outperforming all existing AC voltage withstand equipment.
  • Fault Current Limitation: In the event of flashover or breakdown, the short-circuit current through the test object is limited to less than one-tenth (1/Q) of the test current prior to the short circuit. This effectively prevents further damage to the fault point after breakdown.
  • Safe Arc Extinguishing and Voltage Recovery: Following a flashover, the arc is automatically extinguished immediately. The process of restoring the resonant state voltage after arc quenching is a steady-state establishment process lasting several seconds. There is no risk of voltage overshoot or recovery overvoltage during the microsecond to millisecond transient process, ensuring safe operation.

Application of AC Resonant Test System
  • The device is intended to perform CVT calibration strictly at 50 Hz, delivering a field‑capable series resonance boosting solution to meet handling and operation requirements in complex geographical or on‑site environments.

Fundamental principle of Resonant Test System for CVT
  • Power‑frequency resonance can be implemented as series resonance or parallel resonance; both approaches compensate reactive power so that, after full compensation, the input power can be reduced to 1/Q or less of the test output capacity.

Operations of AC Resonant Test System
  • Over‑current protection setting: set to 0.7 times the rated current of the control unit. Example: for a control unit rated at 27 A with a matched CT 30/5, adjust the current relay to 3.3 A.
  • Voltage withstand time setting: program the time relay to the required duration for the dielectric withstand test.
  • Connection and verification: connect and check test leads per the wiring diagrams; close the console breaker and ensure the regulator is at 0 before applying main power. Without main power, adjust the reactor air gap and verify travel/limit protections.
  • Tuning and boosting: with main power applied, press the "boost" button; the reactor will generate high voltage. Tune by changing the air gap to reach maximum output voltage; once tuned, boost to the required test voltage. The system will automatically time the voltage‑withstand period and return to 0 after the set duration.
  • Monitoring and safety: during tests monitor the equipment under test; if any abnormal phenomenon occurs, immediately reduce the regulator and disconnect power.
