Description

Introduction of resonant test system
  • The UHV-270kVA/10kV Series Resonance Solution is a frequency‑modulated series resonant AC test system designed for large-capacity high-voltage capacitive testing and preventive testing of cables, transformers and substation equipment. The series resonance system is based on a DSP platform, integrates multiple protection functions and is designed for easy field deployment.

Test range / typical applications of AC series resonance test system
  • 10kV/300mm² cable 3km AC voltage test, capacitance ≤1.1265μF, test frequency 30-300Hz, test voltage 22kV, test time 5min.
  • 10kV switch and other substation equipment AC withstand voltage test, the test frequency is 30-300Hz, the test voltage does not exceed 42kV, the test time is 1min.
  • 35kV/300mm² cable 1km AC voltage test, capacitance ≤0.1945μF, test frequency 30-300Hz, test voltage 52kV, test time 60min.
  • AC voltage withstand test of 35kV/31500kVA main transformer, capacitance ≤0.02μF, test frequency 45-65Hz, test voltage 68kV, test time 1min.
  • 35kV switch and other electrical equipment AC voltage test, the test frequency is 30-300Hz, the test voltage does not exceed 95kV, the test time is 1min.

  • Integrated protection: adjustable overvoltage and overcurrent limits, zero-start, system mismatch/flashover detection with flashover voltage recording for analysis.
  • Lightweight, single-unit design for simplified transport and on-site use.
  • Three operating modes: automatic, manual and automatic tuning with manual boost to balance test speed and control.
  • Data storage and remote printing with indexed records for easy retrieval and reporting.
  • Automatic frequency sweep with configurable start point and selectable sweep direction; large LCD displays sweep curve to locate resonance point.
  • DSP platform enabling functional upgrades and an improved human–machine interface.
  • Reduced required supply capacity: series resonant excitation supplies mainly active power (approximately 1/Q of test capacity).
  • Compact size and lower weight by eliminating bulky high-power regulators and conventional test transformers (typical system size 1/10–1/30 of conventional devices).
  • Resonant filter improves output waveform quality, producing a near-sinusoidal voltage and reducing harmonic peaks applied to the test object.
  • Series-resonant behavior limits loop current on breakdown, reducing short-circuit burn risk and preventing recovery overvoltage after breakdown.
