Description

Overview
  • UHV-500 cable fault locator is a portable diagnostic instrument for locating and characterizing faults in power and communication cables. It detects low- and high-resistance faults, short/open circuits, leakage and flashover faults, and provides waveform and distance measurements.


Applications and uses
  • Test and locate faults on power cables (1 kV–35 kV), telephone cables, FM communication cables and coaxial cables; detect shorts on metallic overhead lines, grounding faults, high-resistance leakage, high-impedance flash-over, cable disconnection and poor contacts; measure cable length and signal propagation velocity for maintenance and line diagnostics.
