Overview

The DXV-8000 VSM (Vibrating Sample Magnetometer) is a laboratory instrument designed to measure magnetic properties of a wide range of sample forms (thin films, liquids, powders, bulk samples). It is optimized for multilayer films and materials with low magnetic moments and supports configurable magnetic field and temperature modules.

Measurable samples and measurement outputs
  • Measurable samples: natural magnetic materials, particulate alloys, magnetic semiconductors, magnetic films, materials exhibiting thermomagnetic effects, etc.
  • Measurement results: magnetization curves, hysteresis curves (M-H), magnetic moment vs time/temperature/angle, Curie temperature, superconducting transition temperature (with low-temperature option), FORC (first-order reversal curve) measurements.


Main functional features
  • Hysteresis loop (M-H) testing: determination of coercive force, remanent magnetization and saturation magnetic moment.
  • Temperature-dependent magnetic moment (M-T) measurement including superconducting transition (with low-temperature option) and Curie temperature (with high-temperature option).
  • Support for FORC measurements.
  • Sample rotation: continuous 360° motorized rotation for angle-dependent measurements.
  • High-precision laser displacement sensor: minimum resolution 1 µm, capable of detecting 1 µm amplitude changes.
  • High amplitude stability and automatic high-accuracy sample centering with good repeatability.
  • Fast data acquisition: magnetic moment, magnetic field and temperature can be continuously collected at 10 ms intervals.
  • Support for vector magnetic moment testing (optional) to measure vector components and anisotropic materials.
  • Modular options: multiple magnetic field and variable-temperature modules (electromagnets, cryostats, high-temperature furnaces, integrated thermostats, vector coil) to extend the measurement range.
  • Software: LabVIEW-based implementation enabling ease of use and custom scripting.

  • Vector coil option: simultaneous X and Y vector measurement for anisotropic magnetic materials; compatible with low- and high-temperature measurements.
  • Sample rod standards: multiple specially designed sample rods for thin films, liquids, powders and bulk samples.
  • Other accessories (examples): temperature controller (thermostat), mechanical roughing pump, molecular pump (high vacuum), liquid nitrogen tank with feed tube, cooling feed tube, water chiller (for magnet and equipment cooling), high-temperature sample rod, disposable sample containers.
