Series 8400 A
Compact size is ideal for handling small parts in confined areas. Double-acting for either internal or external gripper applications.
Advantages: Rugged construction, small size, spring assist, switches, and low cost.
Series GRB
Series GRB Grippers provide up to 180° of angular jaw travel allowing the jaws to completely retract from the work area eliminating an otherwise required axis of travel. Internal shock pads help dampen end of rotation shock and ensure quiet operation.
Advantages: Robust cam design, adjustable opening, six sizes, field repairable |

Compact low profile gripper, GRP17 series, provides high performance in a small package size.
The unit has a stroke length of 5mm per jaw and encoder resolution options of 5, 1 or 0.5 micron. The low moving mass, coupled to zero backlash and low hysteresis provides you with the capacity to perform very high speed moves within tightly defined performance envelopes. Due to the high degree of accuracy and repeatability the unit is especially useful for QC measuring while parts are being handled, making it ideal for inline QC inspection.
- Low profile construction (17mm x 55mm x 70mm)
- Independent control of each jaw
- Force and position measurement
- Closed loop feedback
- Low moving mass = fast acceleration
- Fully programmable force, speed and position
- Soft-land capability is ideal for handling fragile components without damage |

These manipulators, available in 1,2 or 3 axes, are motorized by linear motor.
They can be 2x faster than a pneumatic manipulator, because one reaches rates of 4200 cycles/hour.
Without shock of end of the road, without wearing parts, these manipulators are adapted to handling high rates and/or multi-positions, for préhenseurs lower than 2 kg. |

Once again, FIPA has come up with an innovative product that improves process stability and quality: a small, lightweight, yet powerful gripper with an exclusive grip-detection feature. This smart gripper can actually tell the robot controller whether a part has been gripped or not! As a result, the operator enjoys outstanding reliability even when the space available for maneuvering is limited.
The “Mini” is the smallest gripper currently available from any manufacturer. Its extremely compact design has already proven its ability to reliably handle very small products and sprues, even when the space available for maneuvering is limited. In the ongoing effort to optimize process stability, a grip detection function was desired for the gripper. This was a significant challenge because the Mini's design prevented use of conventional grip detection by way of an actuation strap.
FIPA’s solution is a completely new approach to grip detection that does away with moving parts yet provides the robot controller with reliable detection signals. What hasn’t changed are the proven benefits of the “Mini” gripper: very low weight (just 17 g), high holding force (15 N), and simple gripping even when space is limited. |

Parallel gripper: the jaws move in a straight line. There may be two, three or even four
iaws.
Hinged gripper: the jaws are hinged and move along the arc of a circle. It is generally cheaperthan a parallel gripper but there are some limitations (see drawing 1.6):
- If the part has varying dimensions, the contact area changes.
- If the part is cylindrical with varying dimensions, the position of the axis of the clamped part varies.
Gripper with retracting jaws: the jaws hâve an opening angle of about 90 The clamping fingers can retract fully from the work top, and so, in certain cases, it is possible to avoid one linear retraction motion (see drawing 1.5).
Toggle gripper: a hinged gripper with a toggle-action mechanism to achieve high clamping forces. Clamping is irréversible even when there is no pressure, so the part cannot be released accidentally. The opening angle is 90e so it acts as retracting gripper. The clamping force is high within a limited angle only.

Gripping technique
The performance of a robot plant can especially be influenced by the choice of the appropriate gripper. The single-pick gripper is usually the right choice for low performance and unwieldy packages. The multi-pick gripper, which is able to handle two or more packages at a time, is more suitable for a palletising performance of over 500 packages per hour.Multifunctional grippers are applied, if there is a need for additional functions, like interlayer discharge or measuring and inspection operations, besides the original pick-and-place task. |

LINEAR MANIPULATORS of the series H-T are flat conjugate double cam mechanisms that transform the uniform rotary motion into a two-way linear indexing motion typical of pick and place movements. They are manufactured in three different sizes H65T, H80T, H105T and in two special long traverse versions H80TL and H105TL.
With the standard LINEAR MANIPULATORS it is possible to perform traverses up to 480 (mm) in a longitudinal direction and up to 120 (mm) in a transverse direction, reach a velocity of 60 (cycles/min.) and transport pieces up to 30 (kg). |

| The shape of this parallel gripper perhaps is the most diffused in the market of the pneumatic grippers in which, more or less, all have the same characteristics and the same way of operation. In this particular field, the gripper SP is distinguished for its particularities that render it with better performances and advanced if compared to the equivalents of belt. At the moment the range is constituted from 4 sizes with total closing forces of 130, 220, 400 and 640 Newton and respective strokes of 8, 12, 16, 20 mm. The operation does not preview sliding on inclined plans, the jaws are driven by a lever system for which, minor sliding surface and smaller loss of force. It is the only in its kind, allowing the regulation of pre-loading on the jaws guidance that it means possibility of restoration of zero backlash when necessary after extended use. Various options for compressed air supplying and gripper fastening. Easy mounting of magnetic sensor without accessories and changes of the overall dimensions. This gripper is guaranteed in order to work without maintenance |

| This is a really very interesting pneumatic parallel grippers series presenting a 16 different models range, realized in three sizes only. Since it doesn’t have any mechanism to transfer the movement, that gripper has high reliability, the jaws are moved by two pistons connected with them, and the force loss is due to the friction only. In fact, if related to the stroke, force and weight, the efficiency of this kind of gripper, is really very high and its optimal application is in the anthropomorphic robot field, where the weight is the most binding parameter. Total forces of 200, 460 and 1400 Newton and total strokes from 10 to 200mm. In consideration of the quality level, the cost is really low and convenient. The PE gripper series is guaranteed maintenance and lubrication free for 10 Million cycles. |
