The angular grippers series 1 and 2 exist in 4 sizes, classified by the diameter of their piston. This allows to have a varied range, going from the NMA16 (small dimensions - compactness ) to the NMA51 with large clamping force.
Tightening self-locking
The actuation of the fingers is "in corner effect" with sliding motion in curved grooves developing a gripping force very significant and progressive until direct mechanical self-locking in closing. It results the best power/mass ratio, necessary for the robotics applications.
Protection
The NMA grippers are entirely closed (gripping side) by static joints, and a constant contact on the particular profile of the fingers is opposed to the penetrations of aggressive agents. With the V option, a pressurisation at the right of these joints improve this protection.
Dissymmetrical efforts
Being self-directional directly in front of the jaws on cylindrical range, the NMA can absorb any radial effort, in particular during assembly of dissymmetrical jaws in form or length.
Force increased on 1 finger
The originality above allows versions with 1 locked or single jaws; the gripping force normally distributed on 2 jaws is deferred entirely on only 1, doubling it appreciably.
The modular combination of several grippers with single jaws can satisfy the gripping of bulky parts.

Compact low profile gripper, GRP17 series, provides high performance in a small package size.
The unit has a stroke length of 5mm per jaw and encoder resolution options of 5, 1 or 0.5 micron. The low moving mass, coupled to zero backlash and low hysteresis provides you with the capacity to perform very high speed moves within tightly defined performance envelopes. Due to the high degree of accuracy and repeatability the unit is especially useful for QC measuring while parts are being handled, making it ideal for inline QC inspection.
- Low profile construction (17mm x 55mm x 70mm)
- Independent control of each jaw
- Force and position measurement
- Closed loop feedback
- Low moving mass = fast acceleration
- Fully programmable force, speed and position
- Soft-land capability is ideal for handling fragile components without damage

Gripping technique
The performance of a robot plant can especially be influenced by the choice of the appropriate gripper. The single-pick gripper is usually the right choice for low performance and unwieldy packages. The multi-pick gripper, which is able to handle two or more packages at a time, is more suitable for a palletising performance of over 500 packages per hour.Multifunctional grippers are applied, if there is a need for additional functions, like interlayer discharge or measuring and inspection operations, besides the original pick-and-place task.

Parallel gripper: the jaws move in a straight line. There may be two, three or even four
iaws.
Hinged gripper: the jaws are hinged and move along the arc of a circle. It is generally cheaperthan a parallel gripper but there are some limitations (see drawing 1.6):
- If the part has varying dimensions, the contact area changes.
- If the part is cylindrical with varying dimensions, the position of the axis of the clamped part varies.
Gripper with retracting jaws: the jaws hâve an opening angle of about 90 The clamping fingers can retract fully from the work top, and so, in certain cases, it is possible to avoid one linear retraction motion (see drawing 1.5).
Toggle gripper: a hinged gripper with a toggle-action mechanism to achieve high clamping forces. Clamping is irréversible even when there is no pressure, so the part cannot be released accidentally. The opening angle is 90e so it acts as retracting gripper. The clamping force is high within a limited angle only.

The XRAY end effector concept was developed for applications that impart high acceleration to heavy objects or require extremely long, precisely positioned jaws. These applications put extreme stress on the end effector. XRAY end effectors use a ceramic bearing system, the same system that is used in ZAYTRAN high load LSA actuators, to isolate the precision jaw positioning system from jaw torque and force. The ceramic bearing rail allows the end effectors to be small and light weight while delivering gripping force in excess of 2500N (560 pounds) and to tolerate jaw torque of 600NM (405 ft-lb). XRAY end effectors truly deliver: “TWICE THE FORCE...HALF THE SIZE”.

LINEAR MANIPULATORS of the series H-T are flat conjugate double cam mechanisms that transform the uniform rotary motion into a two-way linear indexing motion typical of pick and place movements. They are manufactured in three different sizes H65T, H80T, H105T and in two special long traverse versions H80TL and H105TL.
With the standard LINEAR MANIPULATORS it is possible to perform traverses up to 480 (mm) in a longitudinal direction and up to 120 (mm) in a transverse direction, reach a velocity of 60 (cycles/min.) and transport pieces up to 30 (kg).
