I 1978 SPECO® started manufacturing PA-type Archimedean Water Screw Pumps. By the mid 1980s the Company had gained a leading position among European manufacturers due to the acquired know-how and expertise in production technology. Only logistic problems could stop SPECO® topping their triple pitch 3.5 metre diameter, 23 metre long, and more than 30 ton weighing monster powered by a 500 kW drive supplied in 1993 to a municipal wastewater treatment plant in Rome.
The 1990s brought major changes to the wastewater industry. The dramatically decreasing demand for large Archimedean Water Screw Pumps in the industrialised countries made SPECO® now focus on similar technologies, such as screening and compacting. General Description
Used to pump or meter thin to highly viscous liquids, pasty, neutral or aggressive, pure or abrasive liquids, gaseous liquids or liquids that tend to foam, even liquids with fibrous and solid components.
Functionality
Self-priming progressing cavity pump, the pumping elements of which are the rotating rotor and the stationary stator. The special shape of these two parts creates sealed chambers, the contents of which are continuously moved in an axial direction from the suction side to the pressure side. Despite rotation of the rotor, no turbulence results; the consistent chamber volume eliminates crushing forces.

Any exquisite product or good functional product has a simple configuration---including few components….sine pump is not an exception.
The sine wave shape of impeller means a cavity can be formed at every rotation (4 cavities can be formed every passing the lining space). This operation can “push” or “release” flowing products. The pump cavity is divided into suction chamber and extraction chamber by control panel to ensure pressure tolerances at exit and entrance. Meanwhile, control panel plays another important role to lubricate the pump bearing by product in compulsion.

Ideal for transferring highly viscous and highly concentrated slurry liquids
This monoaxial screw pump is ideal for transferring viscous and slurry liquids. It can handle a highly viscous liquid of up to 1,000,000 mPa.S, as well as a material that is almost non-fluidal. The liquid can be transferred smoothly without pulsation, stirring, or foaming.
Superior metering and self-priming performance
Since this is a monoaxial screw pump, the pump can discharge liquid in direct proportion to its speed, and therefore excels in transferring liquid precisely. Furthermore, the flow rate can be controlled easily by adjusting the pump speed. The self-priming capability is maximum 9 m, making the pump ideal for sucking from underground or from a distance.

Areas of application
The KTS conveys cooling lubricant (oil, emulsion, diluted solutions) for high-pressure applications on machine tools. A typical example is cooling, lubrication and chip transportation for tools with an internal cooling lubricant feed for drilling and milling.
Properties
Type KTS screw pumps by KNOLL are self-priming positive displacement pumps suitable for lubricating and non-abrasive materials. The pump essentially consists of 3 components: 1. Suction housing, 2. screw housing with a drive spindle and two integral screw spindles, 3. pressure housing with throttle point, sealed shaft duct and external main bearing. The screw housing consists of 2 ceramic shells imbedded in steel and the spindle package is made of a specially treated tool steel.

A submerged version (type -T) for vertical installation (usually in containers) and a foot mounted version (type -F) for horizontal dry installation are available for all pumps.
