The 8540 DC electronic load is a very compact, economically priced instrument that is at home on both the bench and the production floor. Though this is an instrument in a small package, it can reliably test a 5 volt power supply to 30 amps and do it continuously. The load can operate in CC, CV or CR mode while voltage/current or resistance/power values are measured and displayed in real time, making it well suited to test a variety of DC power sources. The 8540's performance is comparable to most full size bench DC electronic loads, yet it does the job at half the price and takes up half the space on your bench.
- Operates between 0-60 VDC, 1 mA-30 A (150 W maximum)
- Easy operation
- Bright, easy-to-read display
- Very compact and light weight
- Two current ranges: 3 A (1 mA resolution) and 30 A (10 mA resolution)
- Constant current (CC), constant resistance (CR) and constant voltage (CV) operation
- Over-current and over-voltage protection
- Short mode to simulate shorts
- Save up to 400 instrument settings

Electronic DC loads for individual test applications
The Zentro-Elektrik product family includes 4 product lines with
power ranging from 200W to 100kW.
To satisfy the requirements of automatic test systems, all models come with the standard analogue (0-10V) interface, or with optional digital inferfaces and the relevant software driver (IEEE488.2 with LabVIEW driver, Rs232, USB, CAN etc.).
The interfaces are bi-directional, i. e. as well as programming the set point values, the actual values can also be monitored.
As well as being high precision, all DC load products from Zentro-Elektrik have outstanding dynamic properties that ensure that These electronic laods provide consistently reliable results, even in extreme test applications. Generous power stage dimensioning, Comprehensive protection and safety equipment make the units extremely robust.

Electronic precision DC load for small load currents
Where universal loads are highly inaccurate, i.e. in the range of low load currents < 10 A, the electronic DC load “ELA Precision” provides the highest of resolution and accuracy. Typically the working area ranges between a load current of < 1 A and 8 A and a load voltage of between 0.35 VDC and 160 VDC, at a maximum load power of 250 Watt.
The high resolution of the low load current in a load voltage range of over 0.35 VDC is suitable for a number of fields, in particular for applications in research and development as well as testing of solar cells and fuel cells.
