Beswick Engineering’s "PCFCD" Pressure Compensated Flow Control Valve was selected as the Best Product Winner, in the Motion Control category, of Design News magazine’s 2008 Golden Mousetrap Awards. This accolade was just announced to the public in the September 22nd, 2008 issue of Design News.
The PCFCD-1N1 is designed to maintain a constant flow rate, which the customer can adjust, regardless of upstream or downstream pressure variations. It works with both liquids (incompressible fluids) and gasses (compressible fluids) but is primarily intended for the control of liquids. The pressure regulation is accomplished with a low friction diaphragm mechanism. Beswick has applied for patent protection on this unique valve.
The PCFCD-1N1 sets an industry standard for miniaturization. It is lightweight….tipping the scales at only 48 grams. Customers will find it particularly useful when space, weight, and precise liquid flow control are critical.
The PCFCD-1N1 controls flow rates of 0 to 4.2 gallons per hour of Water (0 to 20 cubic feet/hour of Air). It is especially suited for the control of low flow rates. The maximum rated inlet supply pressure is 500 psig. Both the inlet and outlet ports are tapped 10-32. The valve body is both small and lightweight allowing for convenient in-line mounting without the need for a panel mount thread. The PCFCD-1N1 is currently available in brass. Buna-N is the standard seal material. Fluorocarbon (Vitonâ) is optional.

Especially suited for use with Airpot actuators and Airpel cylinders where low friction/low hysteresis, sensitive response, long life, clean operation, and extreme temperature are critical requirements. Offered in both compact and standard configurations for moderate and high flow, Airpot FFR systems are available with standard or precision regulators for precise control and sensitivity. Airpot FFR systems are composed of lightweight aluminum/resin hybrid material built into a compact and modular 40mm x 40mm envelope per component (compact series). Standard and Precision series (with increased low pressure sensitivity) regulators are available; all with hand adjustability and single push lock operation. The precision series offers a pressure range of 0.005 to 0.4 MPa and sensitivity within 0.1% of the full scale. Port connections are available with NPT or G metric threads. Each system is equipped with dual filtration modules that remove particles, dust, oil, moisture and mist down to 0.01 micron. This two stage filtration system is comprised of a 5 micron dust and moisture filter augmented by a 0.01 micron coalescing filter. The long life media transitions from a coarse outer surface to a fine interior structure to reduce clogging prolong life and prevent rust formation. All filters boast a standard corrosion resistant filter bowl guard, one quarter turn filter element removal and a unique O ring slip prevention design. FFR gauges offer highly visible color zone indicators, field adjustable limit marks, flat face design with a non- protruding (standard series, compact and high flow types) gauge embedded in the module made to JIS3 grade with either MPa or PSI readings.

ROSS regulators are made in a wide range of sizes to suit nearly all industrial requirements for pneumatic pressure regulation. Good pressure regulation is essential to the efficient use of pneumatic equipment. A compressor may supply
air at 150 psig, but most of the equipment will operate best at lower pressures. A cylinder, for example, may develop sufficient force for its purpose with 50-psig air. Remember that compressed air is costly, so using higher air pressure than necessary is wasteful, and may also shorten the life of the cylinder. A general purpose pressure regulator is the answer for greater economy and efficiency.

Almost every pneumatic tool would have the max. torque at around 6 bar. Higher pressures (which is often the fact as many users just plug in the tool and use the prevailing working pressure f. inst. 8 or more bar) is just waist of energy and money. It would not give more torch - on the contrary - it is just changing into heat. And many available pneumatic tools on the market can only withstand a max. pressure of 8 bar.
If the user dismount the hose from the tool or outlet directly a residual pressure would still prevail on the secondary side of the regulator. This residual pressure could make the pneumatic tool to work for a short period of time. An unintentional activation of the tool could have desastrous consequences - no matter the type of pneumatic tool. The worst incident that can happen is on a pneumatic tacker, nailgun or the like. An unintentional activation on the trigger f. example can result in 5 - 10 shots. No reason to say that bad enjuries would be the result.

The fine threads of the needle valve permit excellent adjustment for precise control of flow. The flow is restricted in both directions and is adjustable from 0 to the equivalent flow of a 0.025" diameter orifice. The 7-turn adjustment needle valves are available in two models, the standard model and the fine adjustment model. The standard adjustment model has a pin angle of 6° with 10-64 threads; the fine adjustment model has a pin angle of 4° with 10-80 threads.
