The FAE type electromagnetic brake is basically formed by a core armature with coil plus incorporated friction material and an armature formed by the armature disc itself with a membrane spring and an armature support bushing. When voltage (normalized at 24 V.c.c.) is applied to the coil a magnetic field is formed which attracts the armature disc causing a deformation of the membrane spring, which compensates air gap a indicated in the table, which must be respected in the assembly.
