Our Predator Air power unit (Model PCHA60) is a variable displacement horsepower limiting pump. The flow curve differs from standard two and even three stage pumps because there is not a step in between pump stages. Rather, the continuous flow is maximized as pressure builds, utilizing all available horsepower from the motor. This feature effectively fills in the gaps that are in multiple stage pumps.
The maximized flow between 2,000 and 6,000 PSIG are the sweet spot for this pump. In this pressure range, the flow varies from over 200 cu.in./minute to over 100cu.in./minute at 6,000 PSIG. This results in vastly improved approach speeds and faster cycle times.
The Predator Air pump maintains the air intercooler, which serves as a built-in heat exchanger. The primary market for the Predator Air is Oil & Gas. Other markets include Mining, Chemical Processing and other applications where, because of certain explosive environments; air is the preferred power source.
