OverviewThe CSW Series is a compact, integrated generation of programmable AC/DC power sources combined with a built-in power analyzer. It replaces multiple instruments by providing internal connections that eliminate the need for external power harmonics analyzers, digital multimeters, and current shunts or clamps.
Product SummaryModel: CSW Series
Voltage: 0 - 312 V
Current: 0 - 288 A
Power: 5.5 kVA - 33.3 kVA
Overview: Programmable AC and DC Power Source/Analyzer
NoteThe CSW Series end-of-life (EOL) was announced on May 5, 2023, with Last Time Buy until May 31, 2024. Recommended replacements include the Asterion AC single- & three-phase power source families, depending on model and configuration.
Features And BenefitsKey Features- Combined AC and DC programmable power source
- Output frequency range: 40 – 5,000 Hz
- Arbitrary and harmonic waveform generation
- Built-in digital power analyzer and scope capture
- Power programming software
- Constant Power Mode and Multi-Box parallelization
Easy to Use Local ControlsDSP-based control with a front-panel keypad and a large analog control knob provides fast, precise adjustment of output parameters. Functions are logically grouped for direct access.
AC, DC or AC+DC OutputDirect-coupled, transformerless design permits AC and DC on separate phases or on the same phase. High-DC-content waveforms (up to 312 V) can be produced without output power derating, even into 100% reactive loads. Waveforms can be created or uploaded via the Windows GUI and stored for repeatable test conditions.
Applications- Testing complex electronics (avionics, telecoms, commercial electronics)
- Simulating real-world power conditions with arbitrary waveforms on all three phases, including DC
- Load susceptibility and sequence/event programming with multiple voltage harmonics
- Power line disturbance and transient simulation
- MIL-STD-704, DO-160, B747 and ABD100 avionics testing
- Power supply testing for AC-DC and DC-DC converters and UPS systems
- Automotive transients on 12 & 24 VDC
Flexibility in Power RangesBase module provides 5,550 VA. Selectable single- or three-phase output is available via front-panel menu or remote control. Master/Auxiliary configuration allows paralleling up to 33,300 VA.
High Crest FactorWith crest factors up to 3.25:1 the CSW Series can drive nonlinear loads. Certain models (e.g., CSW5550) deliver high repetitive peak current to meet demanding peak current requirements.
Harmonic Waveform GenerationThe programmable controller supports harmonic waveform definition (amplitude and phase up to 50 harmonics). Up to 200 waveforms can be stored in nonvolatile memory and recalled by user-defined name.
