Description

Overview The California Instruments Asterion ASC series of programmable AC power sources provides configurable single- and three-phase outputs in a modular, compact platform. Engineered for high-power test environments, the Asterion ASC delivers wide voltage range operation, high power density and an intuitive touchscreen interface. Standard warranty: Five (5) years.

Summary
Model: Asterion ASC
Voltage: 0 - 312 VAC
Current: 0 - 60 Arms/phase
Power: 4,500 VA - 36,000 VA
Overview: High-performance programmable AC sources

iX2™ Current Doubling Technology All Asterion AC sources use AMETEK’s iX2 current-enhancing technology, enabling linear current increase up to 2× the full-voltage current as voltage falls from the range maximum to one-half range. iX2 allows full power delivery across wide voltage ranges and reduces overspecification for low-line current requirements.

Control and Interface Operable from the front-panel touchscreen or encoder, and controllable via Ethernet (LXI), USB and RS232 as standard. Optional GPIB is available. Touchscreen groups include Dashboard, Output Programming, Measurements, Sequencing, Configuration, Control Interfaces, Applications and System Settings. Parameter entry supports touchscreen or encoder with a dynamic rate-change algorithm for precise adjustments and fast sweeps.

Applications
  • Commercial and military avionics testing
  • AC power simulation and validation
  • Manufacturing and process control test systems
  • Frequency and voltage conversion applications
  • IEC standards compliance testing
  • Automated Test Equipment (ATE) integration

Advanced Features
  • High power density in 1U/2U/4U/14U chassis up to 36 kVA
  • Intuitive touchscreen front panel
  • iX2™ current doubling for extended current at reduced voltage
  • Multi-language user interface
  • Auto-paralleling for higher combined power
  • Combine units for multi-phase configurations
  • Optional avionics test suites
  • ATE versions available (no front panel)
  • Graphical Virtual Panels for remote control and programming
