Description

160-step linear incremental position sensor with ABI output Features Contactless motion and position sensing High speed measurement No programmer needed Immune to external magnetic stray fields Benefits Highest reliability and durability in harsh environments Control of high speed movements Easy to use Lower material cost (no magnetic shielding needed) Product parameters Resolution: 160-step Min. Pole Pair Length [mm]: 2.4 Interfaces Output: ABI Max. Speed [m/s]: 12 Package: TSSOP-20 Automotive Qualified Remark: For linear: Use magnetic strip \ For off-axis: Use ring magnet General Description The AS5306 is an incremental position sensor for linear and rotary off-axis applications based on contactless magnetic sensor technology. To measure position and motion a multi-pole magnet strip or ring has to be used. There are 160 pulses per 2.4 mm pole pair length on the standardized quadrature output interface with an index pulse (=ABI-interface) with a maximum speed of 15m/s. With two decades of magnetic sensor system know-how, we have broad experience in selecting the most suitable magnets. ams experts recommend the following magnet suppliers. This product suits for the following applications: Motor speed and motion control for off-axis applications Replacement of linear and rotary optical sensor systems Control of XYZ-tables CNC machines
