RS720-E9-RS24-E is a 2U rack server platform based on 2nd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors. The chassis supports up to 24 front hot-swap SAS/SATA drive bays and up to 24 DIMMs, with support for Intel Optane DC persistent memory and Intel Deep Learning Boost for accelerated inference workloads.

Performance and Memory

Scalable Expansion and Connectivity
Designed for scalability with multiple PCIe Gen3 slot configurations (combinations of x8 and x16 links). The system includes two embedded 1 Gigabit Ethernet ports and supports higher-speed networking (up to 100 Gigabit) via PCIe adapter cards. An OCP 2.0 Mezzanine card (Gen3 x16) is supported for high-bandwidth, low-latency connectivity in clustered or HPC environments.

Thermal and Power Efficiency
ASUS Thermal Radar uses ambient sensors located at CPU, memory, NVMe, SSD and OCP mezzanine connectors to enable dynamic fan-curve adjustments and lower fan power consumption. Redundant PSU support is available with 800W (for dual 145W CPU configs) and 1200W (for dual 205W CPU configs) 80 Plus Platinum units.

Management and Maintenance
Includes embedded ASMB9-iKVM for remote management (remote BIOS update, fan control, standalone KVM, video recording, BSOD capture) and is bundled with ASUS Control Center for centralized in-band/out-of-band control.
