How it works (process)- Compressed-air preparation: Ambient air is compressed, dried and filtered to protect the molecular sieve.
- PSA nitrogen generation: Oxygen is selectively adsorbed while nitrogen passes to the product line.
- Buffer storage: Produced nitrogen is stored to stabilise flow, pressure and handle demand peaks.
- Controlled supply: Continuous monitoring ensures purity and controls product-gas delivery with off-spec protection.
Key features- Standard purity range: 97% – 99.999% N2 (model dependent)
- Siemens PLC/HMI process control and continuous purity/pressure monitoring
- Matched dryer and filtration to protect adsorbent
- Correctly sized air and nitrogen receivers
- Pre-installed piping and electrical wiring for rapid installation
- Automatic operation with off-spec gas protection and alarm options
Additional options and capabilities- Integrated screw air compressor (optional)
- Demand-led control, standby operation and redundancy

- Laboratories (LC/MS): supply for detectors and curtain gas
- Metal processing and heat treatment: inerting and process support
Project-specific configurationThe skid must be sized to required nitrogen flow (Nm3/h), purity, outlet pressure and compressed-air demand; receiver volumes and redundancy are project-dependent. Excessive purity requirements reduce output and increase energy consumption.
Data required for an engineered proposal- Required nitrogen flow (Nm3/h)
- Required nitrogen purity or residual oxygen level
- Required outlet pressure and any pressure peaks
- Daily operating hours and load profile
- Installation country, altitude and ambient temperature
- Application, applicable standards, redundancy and backup requirements
Certifications, standards and complianceEquipment and workmanship comply with applicable codes and standards (e.g. DIN, VDI/VDE, IEC); other standards (ASME, ATEX, GL, BV) can be applied by agreement.
