Description

Overview
Custom-engineered, skid-mounted or containerized membrane nitrogen generator systems for continuous on-site nitrogen production. Systems are manufactured and assembled in Germany and designed for industrial applications where nitrogen purity between 95% and 99.7% N2 is required. Complete solutions include compressed air treatment, membrane separation modules, controls, safety components and turnkey integration.

Key features
  • Designed and assembled in Germany
  • Nitrogen purity: 95% – 99.7% N2
  • Skid-mounted or containerized project systems
  • Custom engineering for flow, purity, pressure and installation concept
  • Continuous on-site supply to reduce dependence on delivered gases
  • Compact, modular design suitable for remote and outdoor installations
  • PLC control and remote monitoring options

System components / Process components
  • Compressor and compressed air receiver
  • Multi-stage filtration (particle and oil removal)
  • Dewpoint-controlled dryer sized for membrane feed
  • Fine filtration ahead of membrane modules
  • Polyimide hollow-fibre membrane modules
  • Nitrogen receiver and pressure regulation
  • Oxygen, flow and pressure monitoring instruments
  • PLC controls and electrical integration

Technology advantages
  • Continuous membrane separation: steady on-site nitrogen supply
  • Modular membrane racks: scalable capacity by adding modules
  • Project-specific purity from 95% to 99.7% depending on configuration
  • Simplified operation compared with cyclic adsorption systems
  • Suitable for containerized, remote or outdoor installations
  • Flexible capacity and control design tailored per project
  • Reduces logistics and reliance on delivered gas cylinders or bulk supply
  • Integration capability with existing compressed air networks or complete compressor packages

Installation concepts
  • Skid-mounted systems: compact turnkey units for compressor rooms and indoor technical areas
  • Containerized systems: pre-integrated, weather-protected solutions for outdoor and remote sites (options: insulation, ventilation, heating/cooling, electrical cabinet)

Membrane separation quality
Polyimide hollow-fibre membranes selectively allow oxygen, water vapour and other fast-permeating components to pass through the membrane wall while producing an N2-enriched product stream. Correct compressed air preparation (filtration, drying and dewpoint control) is essential to maintain membrane performance and lifetime.

Industrial applications
  • Mining and tunnelling (containerized supply for remote projects)
  • Oil & gas (purging, blanketing and utility duties)
  • Marine and shipyards
  • Food storage and packaging
  • Beverage bottling
  • Fire prevention and inerting (requires project-specific risk assessment)
  • Tank blanketing and pipeline purging
  • Chemical industry and general industrial N2 supply

Comparison: Membrane N2 system vs PSA N2 system
Requirement | Membrane N2 system | PSA N2 system
Typical purity | 95% – 99.7% for this membrane range | Often selected for very high nitrogen purities (>99.9%)
Process | Continuous membrane separation | Cyclic adsorption (PSA) process
Footprint | Compact and modular | Varies with capacity, purity and vessel arrangement
Containerization | Well suited to compact and remote systems | Also possible as containerized PSA solutions
Approach | Project-engineered systems | Project-engineered systems

Safety note
Applications related to safety (fire prevention, inerting, explosion-risk reduction) require project-specific evaluation, process risk assessment and compliance with applicable regulations and standards.

Technical characteristics / specifications
  • Product type: Industrial membrane nitrogen generator system (skid or container)
  • Nitrogen purity: typically 95% – 99.7% N2 (project-dependent)
  • Technology: Polyimide hollow-fibre membrane separation
  • Operation: Continuous membrane separation
  • Primary components: compressor, air receiver, multi-stage filtration, dryer, fine filtration, membrane module, N2 receiver, pressure regulation, monitoring and controls
