The METPOINT®️ OCV complete is an online oil vapour monitor for continuous measurement of residual oil vapour in compressed air (mg/m³). It provides real-time indication of oil vapour concentration and the ISO 8573 oil class to support process safety and compressed air quality monitoring.

Function and operation
The instrument uses a PID (photo-ionisation detector) with a UV lamp to detect hydrocarbon vapours. Measured values are temperature- and pressure-compensated. Continuous self-checks alternate measurements of sample air and an internally generated reference gas (produced by an integrated catalytic converter) to ensure reproducible zero-point control and long-term stability. Short measurement intervals and floating mean-value calculation reduce the impact of isolated peaks.

Notes on sampling and measurement
Representative sampling is essential for trace-level detection. For homogeneous flow, sample near the pipe centre. Mean-value formation over defined windows reduces false alarms from short peaks and ensures representative long-term monitoring data.
