Description

Product description
The Moore & Wright MWT-2600 is an electromagnetic ultrasonic thickness gauge designed for non-destructive thickness measurement of conductive materials, primarily metals. It generates ultrasonic waves by electromagnetic excitation at the material surface and analyses returned single-echo or dual-echo signals to determine thickness without direct coupling.

Principle and measurement
  • Ultrasonic generation via electromagnetic interaction at the surface, eliminating the need for coupling gels.
  • Measurement modes: single-echo and dual-echo analysis for different material and coating conditions.
  • Suitable for in-situ measurements on hot, coated or moving surfaces where contact probes are impractical.

Applications
  • Inspection of pipelines and pressure vessels.
  • Corrosion, erosion and wear assessment on conductive components.
  • Field measurements on hot or coated parts without part cooling.

Key features
  • Non-contact thickness measurement for conductive materials.
  • Compatible with coated surfaces and limited-access locations.
  • Optional high-temperature probe enables measurements up to 800°C in-field.
  • Single-echo and dual-echo modes to adapt to different material conditions.

Operational notes
  • Instrument selection and probe choice depend on material conductivity and operating temperature.
  • Calibration and verification against known standards recommended for critical inspections.
  • Suitable for routine integrity checks in industrial environments.
