Description

Our Float Switch with Pneumatic Output (Float Switch) is designed to be mounted into the top of a tank into which access is possible to secure the locknut and float. The float switch will provide a 2 to 6 bar output at a given liquid level, determined by the length of the rod supporting the float. As the liquid level in the tank rises to meet the 316 stainless steel float, it lifts both the float and the rod that supports it. The rod, which slides within a PTFE bush, has a ceramic magnet fitted at the upper end. It is the movement of this magnet, detected through the PTFE bush, that operates the magnetically operated output valve within the float switch. This arrangement ensures that the output valve is completely isolated from the process whatever the liquid level in the tank. The float switch can be configured as either Normally Open (N.O.), which provides an output when the liquid level is below the switching point, or Normally Closed (N.C.), which provides an output when the liquid level is above the switching point. The upper section of the float switch is 55mm diameter by 120mm long (above the top of the tank). The connection thread on the float switch is 1/2” BSP.P, a locknut for which issupplied.
