OverviewThe KSL PENCIL is a table-based edge polishing machine designed to produce rounded pencil edges (small radii) and eased edges with high process reliability. It features swiveling bevel grinding supports and a modular concept to adapt to different materials and workpiece thicknesses.
Main features- Swiveling bevel grinding supports for manufacturing rounded edges (pencil/soft edges).
- Table-based KSL concept offering high process reliability and adaptability to different materials.
- Modular design: number of grinding supports can be adapted; optional components available for calibration, bevel cutting and groove sawing.
- Standard machine configuration includes several grinding heads plus programmable pre-milling heads for top and bottom chamfers and swiveling chamfering supports.
- Alternative support options available, e.g. planetary grinding heads.
- Capable of high feed speeds for soft edges depending on material (up to 2 m/min in some cases).
Standard configuration and options- Standard delivery: several end-face grinding supports and a programmable pre-milling support for top and bottom chamfers.
- Swiveling upper and lower chamfering units with up to 4 supports each for producing rounded chamfers.
- Upper chamfering supports are automatically height-adjustable to process material thicknesses from 12 to 80 mm.
- Supports can alternatively be fixed at 45° for producing precise standard chamfers.
- Modular extensions: customer-specific number of grinding supports and special units for calibration, bevel cutting and groove sawing.
