Description

Overview
MDL compact surge protective devices (SPDs) are designed to protect the DALI control-lines of lighting systems, typically used in tunnel applications, from lightning and transient overvoltages. The MDL-28-R (Part Number: 831611) is a compact non-pluggable (monobloc) unit intended for mounting on plates inside luminaires or lighting cabinets. The hybrid protection circuit combines a gas discharge tube (GDT) and clamping (TVS) diodes to provide full-mode protection across the data pair and optional protection for the signalling ground conductor.
