Overview
The Crest EVO-1700 unwinds jumbo foam rolls, laminates films and adhesives (hot or cold), slits the laminate to customer widths and rewinds finished jumbo rolls in one continuous roll-to-roll pass. The compact line integrates unwind, two lamination stations, pneumatic crush-cut slitting and rewind, and is operable by a single operator from one HMI.

Operation and components
The line comprises an unwind with electrically operated friction brake and ±100 mm sideshift, two lamination stations, pneumatic crush-cut slitting unit and rewind. Lamination unit 1 has independently driven top and bottom rollers with electric NIP adjustment and height/pressure readout. Unit 2 is friction-coupled to ≈105% of unit 1 to maintain controlled tension. Both units use ø150 mm silicone rubber rollers (60° Shore) and open to 120 mm. Web tension is dancer-controlled across the line (10–200 N). All production runs on ø76.2 mm (3 in) cores.

Slitting
Slitting is by pneumatic crush-cut knives. Five knives are standard; extendable to eleven. Maximum slitting thickness 20 mm, maximum pass opening 120 mm. Knife positions have ±50 mm lateral fine adjustment by handwheel for precise finished widths.

Changeovers and handling
The four-position film carousel holds three extra Autogrip shafts for quick film swaps. A chain hoist on rail lifts jumbo rolls (max load including hoist 250 kg) to up to 3 m; hoist speeds 8 and 2 m/min. Smart PLC recipe programs recall product settings to reduce setup time and ensure repeatability.

A 5-year warranty applies provided a service agreement is in place.
