The mechanically actuated Planox® friction clutches, type PM, are characterized in particular by the spring contact-pressure of the friction element. Due to this spring pressure, the peak torques are cut off during the switch-on process. The core sizes of the standard models (marked in the brochure) can be delivered from stock. The Planox® clutch, type PM, is delivered as a shaft / shaft (PMW) or shaft / flange (PMF) model. Planox® PMA actuated mechanically, bell-shaped model The bell-shaped model of the Planox® clutch coupling has been developed for attachment to diesel engines. The complete clutch, including the bearing, is installed in the clutch bell housing, which forms one unit with the engine after it is attached. The large-sized support of the drive shaft in the clutch casing permits the power to be output via flexible couplings, universal joints or belt drives. Planox® PP switched on pneumatically In case of the pneumatically switched-on Planox® clutch, type PP, the compressed air is fed axially through the shaft into the ring cylinder, thereby determining the torque. The wear that occurs is automatically compensated over the piston stroke. Combined with flexible couplings, the PP type is especially suitable as a safety clutch for dual screw extruders in the plastic indurstry. These are ground in at our grind-in test stand especially produced for this application, and set there to the required slip torque.
