Description
The core of the PL2230 system is a diode pumped solid state (DPSS) master oscillator in a sealed monolithic block, generating high repetition rate pulse trains (90 MHz) with low single pulse energy. Diode pumped amplifiers boost the pulse energy up to 40 mJ. The high-gain regenerative amplifier achieves an amplification factor near 10⁶, followed by a multipass power amplifier optimized for efficient energy extraction and maintaining a near Gaussian beam profile. Output pulse energy can be adjusted in ~1% steps, with pulse-to-pulse energy stability below 0.5% rms at 1064 nm.
Angle-tuned KD*P and KDP crystals in thermostabilised ovens enable second, third, and fourth harmonic generation, with harmonic separators ensuring high spectral purity at different output ports. Built-in energy monitors provide continuous output pulse energy monitoring, viewable on a remote keypad or PC. The laser offers triggering pulses for equipment synchronization, with adjustable lead up to 500 ns (user adjustable in ~0.25 ns steps) and a pretrigger feature up to 1000 μs. The system can be controlled via USB (VCP, ASCII commands), RS232 (ASCII commands), LAN (REST API), WLAN (REST API), or a remote control pad with a backlit display.
