Short description
Laboratory high-speed stirrer for container volumes from approx. 0.1 to 10 L. Designed for dispersing, mixing and producing colloidal suspensions using a high-speed dissolver disc.

Technical description
The DISCOVERY (100) 492 IV series are precisely controlled laboratory high-speed stirrers suitable for integrating fine solid particles into liquids, dispersing mill feed materials and breaking powder agglomerates by shear forces. Optimum results are obtained with a peripheral (tip) speed of the disc of 18–22 m/s. The shaft speed and tip speed are displayed. After premixing, increase speed until no product adheres to the vessel wall and the top of the dissolver disc is visible (doughnut-flow pattern).

Design
Equipped with a low-noise drive and continuously adjustable speed. PID electronics maintain constant rpm despite viscosity changes. Stainless steel stand and column. An internal counterweight in the column compensates motor and stirring unit weight for smooth vertical movement. Quick-fixing device with safety switch disconnects motor power if fixation pressure is insufficient. An adjustable height safety switch interrupts power if the unit is lifted above the active stirring range. One interchangeable dispersing disc is included. The 492 IV features an integrated 5" TFT colour touch panel with data storage and a rotary multi-jog wheel for fast menu access. Emergency stop on the control panel.
