Description
Dip-flow cup Model 322 is an aluminium immersion cup for rapid determination of the viscosity of a wide range of fluids in accordance with EN ISO 2431. It is suitable for paints, varnishes, wet enamels, printing inks, dyes and leather lacquers, oils, fats, foodstuffs and similar media. Designed for workshop and portable use.


Measuring principle
The viscosity is expressed as the efflux time of a defined volume (100 ml) from the cup through an orifice of specified diameter. The efflux time is recorded using a stopwatch and serves as a comparative measure of kinematic viscosity.


Test procedure
Immerse the cup fully in the test liquid so that it fills completely. Lift the cup out quickly and start the stopwatch simultaneously. Record the time in seconds required to empty the cup; the end point is reached when the orifice becomes visible from above. Maintain the cup in a vertical position throughout the test.
