They are directlyactuated using compressed air supply.In this process, the seat of the processvalve is raised by a pneumaticactuator. In the normal position, thevalve is closed by a spring. When theactuator is supplied with operatingpressure, it raises the control piston aswell as the valve disc – the valveopens. The valve seat is slanted at anangle of approx. 50° in relation to themedia flow. The flow direction isdetermined by the design of the valve.Angle seat valves are used inapplications in which absolute purityof the medium cannot be ensured, inwhich high-viscosity media are to becontrolled or in vapour applications.
