Description

Overview
The Tornado Hood is an extraction hood designed to remove harmful vapours from the operator's breathing zone at mixing tables, paintshops and similar workstations. The unit uses a built-in injection fan to create a whirling airflow that lifts and channels contaminated air toward the hood outlet. Suitable for industrial sites and shipboard use when ducted to the outside.

How it works
Injected air is delivered vertically via nozzles at the rear edge of the hood, generating a vortex across the full width of the unit. This vortex pushes contaminated air upward where the extraction outlet removes it. Extracted air must be ducted outside; an EEX-rated fan can be fitted externally if required (fan and ducting not part of the hood).

What do you get?
  • Targeted removal of hazardous solvents and vapours from the operator’s breathing zone.
  • Whirling airflow created by injected pilot air ensures full coverage across the hood width.
  • Built-in U-manometer for simple monitoring of airflow performance.
  • Optional control panel and remote control for convenient operation.
  • Complies with Danish Maritime Authority requirements for ship use.
  • Available in widths from 500 to 1,900 mm to suit different workstation layouts.
  • Can be combined with an ergonomic worktable, including height-adjustable sections.

Product information
The Tornado Hood combines injected pilot air and mechanical extraction to effectively remove substances such as mineral turpentine, acetone and paint thinner from the operator’s breathing zone. It is intended for indoor installation in industrial workshops, paintshops and ship engine rooms where controlled ventilation and safe exhaust to outdoors are required.
