Technical specifications- Model: 8079-HD
- Power supply type: DC constant current
- Number of power supplies: 12 units
- Compliance/switching: Current switching and monitoring according to IEC 61215-2:2021
- Temperature/current operation: Continuous current applied in heating phase at specification current for −40 °C to +80 °C; during cooling phase current reduced to ≤1.0% of STC peak power at low-temperature dwell; delayed current application permitted if temperature rise rate exceeds 100 °C/hour until −20 °C.
- Monitoring: Individual temperature sensor connections, real-time I/V/T curves and event logging.
- Data handling: Excel export, historical data reuse, configurable retention (default 60 seconds).
Test procedure and requirements- Mechanical requirement: a 5 N weight attachable to the module electrical termination leads.
- Connections: connect temperature sensors and link each module positive terminal to the corresponding power supply positive terminal; connect the second terminal accordingly.
- Current settings: during heating apply continuous current per technical specification for −40 °C to +80 °C; during cooling at the −40 °C dwell and when temperature is above 80 °C reduce current to ≤1.0% of measured STC peak power for continuity monitoring.
- Delay rule: if temperature rises faster than 100 °C/hour at lowest temperatures, delay current application until temperature reaches −20 °C.
Software features- Time control: start/end time settings and auto-stop function.
- Data export: saves results in Excel format with reusable historical export.
- Real-time display: I/V/T curve visualization for each channel.
- Alarm system: logs timestamp, object and event description for fault tracing.
- Retention: display and configurable retention period for saved data (default 60 seconds).
- Saved Excel support for measurement records and analysis.
Applications- PV module production testing and quality control.
- Environmental and thermal cycling tests in R&D and certification labs.
- Long-term reliability and ageing studies for photovoltaic modules.
Compliance- Designed to meet test and monitoring requirements of IEC 61215-2:2021 for PV module thermal cycling continuity checks.
