This SCANIA diesel engine, a direct injection type, runs on a 4 strokes-cycle. Model DC9 71A (02-04) has a turbocharged and aftercooled aspiration, 5-L cylinders and a rated output of 283 kW prp. It works on a coolant system with a displacement of 9,3 L. The bore and stroke sizes are 130 x 140 mm. The engine uses lube oil ACEA E3, E4, E5 or E7. The total oil capacity is 38 L. The fuel consumption at 50%, 75% and 100% PRP is 36,46 l/h, 53,94 l/h and 68,55 l/h respectively. The water-cooled diesel engine has a 24V electrical system, an electronic governor, a dry air cleaner and filter, a low water level sensor, water separator decanting filter, hot components and radiator guards, and mobile components guards.
