This diesel engine, manufactured by SCANIA, has a direct-injection 4 strokes-cycle. The bore and stroke sizes are 130 x 140 mm and there is a 5-L cylinder arrangement. Model DC9 72A (02-11) has a rated output of 241 kW prp and 266 kW on standby. The aspiration type is turbocharged and aftercooled. The total oil capacity is 38 L with lube oil specifications of ACEA E3, E4, E5 or E7. The lube oil consumption is 0.2 g/kwh for a full load. The water cooled engine has a 24V electrical system, an electronic governor, WT and OP senders, a dry air cleaner, hot components and radiator guards, a low water level sensor, a water separator decanting filter and a radiator with blowing fan. It has a compression ratio of 16:1. Its fuel consumption ranges from a standby intake of 63.87 l/h through 57.5 l/h at 100% PRP, 43.2 l/h at 75% PRP to 29.92 l/h at 50% PRP. It consumes 0.2 g/kwh of lube oil at full load.
