Product description
SP-L1 is a specimen holder rotation device designed to attach to the IM-P2 polishing machine. When mounted on IM-P2, SP-L1 enables semi-automatic polishing of pressed specimens. Adjustable holder rotation speed ensures the holder and disc can be synchronized to preserve specimen parallelism during grinding and polishing.

Main specifications

• Individual load system: Allows removing specimens individually as each reaches a target grinding position (e.g. via reference holes). Up to three specimens can be installed simultaneously.
• Preserve parallelism: By matching holder and disc rotation speeds and direction, the system minimizes tilting of the polishing surface and prevents conical or pencil-shaped material removal. Recommended example speeds — coarse polishing: disc 200 rpm / holder 200 rpm; fine polishing: disc 65–150 rpm / holder 65–165 rpm.
• Semi-automatic polishing with lubricator included: Attaching SP-L1 to IM-P2 enables automatic polishing cycles. A lubricator with adjustable drip rate and open/close valve is supplied as standard.
