OverviewThe MPX multiplex extrusion line from KraussMaffei Group is a modular extrusion system designed for continuous production of tire components and other profile products. Configurable from Duplex to Hexaplex, the line enables multiple extruders per head and fast adaptation to process changes.
Design and functionStacked (huckepack) arrangement of extruder aggregates ensures a symmetric material flow in the extrusion head, supporting uniform compound distribution and repeatable profile geometry.
Performance data- Up to five main extruders per head
- Up to two feed/kicker extruders per head
- Throughput: up to 10,000 kg/h (depending on compound and profile)
Key features- Modular configuration: scalable from Duplex to Hexaplex
- Separate locking of upper and lower sections for improved sealing and maintenance
- Modular flow restrictor for rapid adaptation to different profile cross-sections
- Optimized screw geometry for consistent dispersion of fillers and compounds
Typical applications- Industry / use: Tire component production (beads, treads, chafer, etc.) and other continuous profile manufacture
- Materials: Natural and synthetic rubber, fillers such as carbon black, silica, calcium carbonate, steel and textile cord
- Technologies: Multiplex extrusion, roller-head systems, cap-strip systems
Technical specifications- Modular head layout: flexible Duplex–Hexaplex configurations
- Stacked (huckepack) design for symmetric flow
- Multi-extruder capability per head (main and feed extruders)
- Throughput capacity: up to 10,000 kg/h
- Flow control: modular restrictor elements for profile adaptation
- Sealing concept: separate locking for upper and lower housing
