Description

Overview
The Makino UX6i is a wire EDM machine engineered for precision machining of tool steels and complex parts. Using a higher-frequency HFG generator with lower current increases machining speed while improving surface finish, delivering reduced cycle times even when the absolute finest finish is not required. Example: a 50 mm (2.0") H13 punch machined to a 10 µin Ra (0.25 µm Ra) target achieved a 5% reduction in machining time and an 8 µin Ra (0.20 µm Ra) finish with four-pass machining.

UXi Series Features
Thermal stability is managed by an internal radiator cooling system and a high-accuracy chiller that maintains temperature within ±0.1ºC. The UXi platform also provides a worktable with improved flatness accuracy and an auto seal plate shower to keep the seal plate lubricated and cleaner. The Hyper Drive Extreme Wire Guide System, driven by an AC servo motor tensioning system, offers a wider range of wire tension settings and enhanced dynamic corner control for improved straightness, size, shape and corner accuracy. Threading and recovery features include jet-less threading for interrupted or hollow parts and very small start holes, an enhanced auto-wire-threading process with annealing to straighten wire, and the ability to thread in a gap after a wire break to reduce recovery time.
