Description

A-axis and B-axis spindle with high positioning accuracy and large machining area ±40 degree of rotary range ideal for machining aerospace components When machining workpieces with complex contours such as aerospace components, a 3-axis vertical machining centre typically requires small-diameter ball-end milling, while the VORTEX II series, which can tilt its spindle, uses an ordinary end mill for side face machining, enabling quick and high-accuracy machining. A-axis and B-axis use backlash-free and high rigidity roller gear cam. Each axis can be indexed in 0.0001° increments and the roller gear cam can transmit more than twice the torque when compared to a conventional worm drive. This allows for powerful cutting and continuous cutting. The standard spindle has a top speed of 10000 min-1 to machine a wide range of workpiece materials – from steel to non-ferrous. Additionally, the AC 75 kW (100 HP), 18000 min-1 spindle is designed for the machining of complex contours using small-diameter tools. The optional 286 N·m (29 kgf·m), 13000 min-1 spindle can be used for a wide range of applications including difficult to machine materials. This spindle lineup improves productivity in a wide range of applications.
