Description

Compact encoder with selectable torque and two bearing options The SPE series is an optical incremental encoder with a 22 mm housing and a shallow installation depth of just 11.7 mm. With three selectable torque levels, the encoder can be optimally adapted to the respective application. The sleeve bearing version is suitable for speeds up to 100 rpm and is often used for setpoint settings. The torque can be selected in two stages to enable the desired operating comfort. The ball bearing version is designed for higher speeds up to 15,000 rpm and has a very low actuating torque due to its design. Signals are transmitted via TTL or line driver outputs, which offer different advantages depending on the application. TTL outputs enable simple integration into control systems, while the line driver output utilizes differential signals and thus ensures interference-free transmission over longer cable runs. Two channels (A and B) enable the direction of rotation to be recognized and ensure reliable position feedback. Thanks to its compact design and the radial connection option via Molex connectors, the SPE encoder can be easily integrated into existing systems.
