PVD coated Cermet grade for steel Produces excellent surface finishes MP3025 has excellent flank wear and fracture resistance The latest PVD coated cermet grade for turning steels, MP3025, is manufactured using the latest coating technology. The smooth substrate surface provides excellent adhesion strength for the coating and therefore improves tool life by preventing premature wear. Additionally the substrate also has better fracture and thermal shock resistance compared with conventional cermet grades. The new LP chip breaker is optimised for finish cutting of steels and is very effective for low depth of cut profiling. The combination of chip breaker geometry and coating produces better surface finishes at low cutting speeds that is typically encountered at the centre of components when surface speeds are reduced due to lack of spindle speed.
