The Roofing Flame Spread Burning Brand Apparatus is used for flame spread testing of roofing materials or photovoltaic modules exposed to the exterior of buildings and mounted on combustible or non-combustible substrates.
The test is divided into three classes depending on the exposed fire source.
Class A is a covering material capable of producing a high level of protection against roof substrates in severe fire situations, without collapse or flying flames during the test.
Class B is a cover material capable of producing a medium level of protection to the roof substrate under moderate fire conditions, with no collapse or flying fire during the test.
Class C is a cover material that provides a light level of protection in the event of a light fire and does not collapse or fly during the test.
Features
• The framework is made of corrosion-resistant carbon steel welded together and coated with black corrosion-resistant paint for beauty and durability.
• The sample holder is made of stainless steel with a non-combustible substrate mounted on the end to prevent tampering during testing.
• Stainless steel scalloped adjustment plate with adjustable test angle and quick locking.
• The front section of the sample holder is fitted with a non-combustible assembly that simulates eaves and cornices and extends the flame from the burner to the surface of the specimen.
• The fan draws air steadily from the outside and creates a maximum wind speed of 8.0m/s on the sample surface.
• The fan is controlled by a frequency converter with a feedback system which allows the required airspeed to be adjusted according to requirements
